Every game I play with Civ 5 at the start of the game I always get approached by neighbouring civs to establish an embassy with them. Is there a downside to doing this?
Ticking off hostile civs if existent at that part of the game? Getting a bigger warmonger penalty if later you decide to wack them? I don't know.. Showing 1 - 15 of 22 comments. Twelvefield View Profile View Posts. The worst thing you can do is provide an embassy to another Civ and keep your capitol undefended. Since the other civ "sees" your capitol through the embassy, this is rolling out the red carpet for invaders.
Guest Guest. It's been a while but if it is the same command as PC then you need to double click the Star under your capital's name. Hope it works!
Create Spy option would only appear on the city that's built the CIA small wonder. It is much easier in Conquests. Just hit the "E" button, and everything is right on the same screen. So do I, which is why I like the Mac that much more.
I've been pleased in this group that the mac-vs-pc thing hasn't come up, at least in the couple of months I've been hanging around. It doesn't accomplish anything, won't change anyone's mind, and just doesn't help. Try clicking on your capitol's star when you're looking at the map rather than in the city screen. Might be double-click but I don't think so. Opens up a dialog of "create embassy or create spy" if you have espionage, or just the embassy choices if you haven't.

If it's the same as a pc, shift-e should open a diolog box. Clicking the star next to the capital city name also works. I've tried double clicking the star, the capital icon and the suggested key commands with no luck. Is this a bug of civIII mac. Can somebody confirm that they can make an embassy please mac.
By capital icon I think it means double click on your capital city on the main game screen - look for the star to the right of the city name on double click on that thats the 'capital' icon I think.
